Berlusconi ha anche detto di ritenere "personalmente" elections are not desirable in a time when Italy is emerging from an economic crisis without precedent.
However, "should not be able to govern even I would introduce me with enthusiasm in an election campaign and win both the House and the Senate."
vote of 627 deputies out of Deputies have participated in 630, the no-confidence votes against were 314, 311 those in favor, two abstentions.
Previously the government had won the confidence of the Senate by 162 votes in favor out of 308 voters and 315 elected senators (those are 6-lived but did not participate in the vote).
The voting took place while Rome was reinforced by a student demonstration against the reform of the University of the Minister Mariastella Gelmini.
groups of students, along with workers, temporary workers and other demonstrators threw firecrackers and paint, shouting slogans against the government. But the massive deployment of security forces prevented them from approaching the House and Senate.
MARKET SLIGHTLY DISTURBED
markets have not reported any unusual reactions.
"The market looks at the macro-trend, as the debt crisis in the euro area, and tents, for the moment, to leave the local factors in the background," said Luca Cazzulani, strategist at Unicredit.
For Ken Wattret of BNP Paribas, however, "the government is weakened. With a margin so thin in the House the power to legislate will suffer and we may soon find ourselves in a situation similar to today. "
Future and freedom has now lost three deputies Catia Polidori, Maria Grazia Siliquini and Giampiero Catone who voted with the League and PDL. Another deputy finiano, Silvano Moffa did not vote.
waving the tricolor, the deputies demanded the resignation of the PDL of Fini. The former leader of the National Alliance was first invited to "put away" the flags and then issued a statement in which he speaks of a loss numbers.
"The victory of Berlusconi number is evident as our defeat [...]. I can not say that Berlusconi had also won in political terms it will be clear in a few weeks, "Fini said in a statement.
"I spoke to Berlusconi, had contained a satisfaction," said the leader of the PDL in the House Fabrizio Cicchitto.
"The result is positive but we are fully aware that opens a different phase, new and challenging [...] the government are faced with the problems of Italian society is faced with the UDC."
During the voting Berlusconi has been noted among the stalls of centrist attitudes in love. Yesterday the prime minister had offered but an enlargement of the UDC Pier Ferdinando Casini had first asked for his resignation.
The hypothesis of an input of the UDC, however, appear in the government hated the Northern League, today's most faithful ally of Berlusconi. The same evening Casini said that Berlusconi has not scoltato the "advice" to resign and now not only have to govern or to go to vote. The
Carroccio said several times that a few votes of a majority is not ruling and called for early elections.
"We will do the recovery point [after the holidays] to see if there are conditions to go forward," said the minister today hot League of Interior Roberto Maroni.
No doubt the will of Berlusconi to go to early elections by the leader of the Democratic Party Pier Luigi Bersani.
"She is pursuing an instability driven to go to the polls and seek revenge on his political defeat," said Bersani addressed to Prime Minister within the explanations of vote.
Immediately after the vote in favor of the government Mediaset Milan Stock Exchange rose to close to an increase of 3.29% in a positive market for good macro U.S. data that showed no particular reaction to the news coming from the Parliament. Basically nothing
the reaction of Italian government bonds. The fork performance among the ten-year BTP in March 2021 and was the equivalent Bund was shown on the TradeWeb platform to 165 basis points, a tick below the levels immediately prior to the verdict of Deputies. In the evening it was down to 160.
